A useful quotation is based on more than a list of desired finishes. The existing property, access, drawings, responsibilities and decisions still to be made determine whether the scope can be priced and planned realistically.
From first message to completion
First assessment
Share location, photos, plans, timing and budget direction.
Site visit
Existing conditions, dimensions, access and risks are inspected.
Quotation
Included work, assumptions, exclusions and choices are described.
Preparation
Drawings, materials, permits, VvE matters and deliveries are coordinated.
Construction

Completion
The work is reviewed and remaining agreed points are recorded.
What a quotation should make clear
- Which labour and materials are included
- Which choices or documents are still required
- Which work is by the owner or another supplier
- Whether VAT is included
- How payment stages relate to progress
- How additional work is approved
Changes and unexpected conditions
“Meerwerk” means additional work outside the agreed scope. It can result from a client request or from an existing condition that could not reasonably be confirmed beforehand. The reason, solution and expected effect on price or schedule should be discussed before proceeding whenever possible.

A visible sequence
Demolition, structure, services, deliveries and finishing are easier to understand when dependencies are shown.

Frequently asked questions
Can you quote from photos alone?
Photos can establish whether the project is a possible fit. A site visit is normally required for a reliable quotation.
Is the start date fixed immediately?
A realistic date depends on accepted scope, preparation, permissions, materials and availability. It should be confirmed rather than assumed.
